Chas Newby was a great friend of everyone at St Peter’s Church, including me, and I was absolutely delighted when the Quarrymen, with Chas on bass, agreed to play at the concert celebrating the 65th anniversary of the day that John met Paul in the Church Hall. I will always remember your kindness, your generosity, your gentle smile, and the music that brought so much happiness. May you rest in peace.
