Remembering the Fallen

One of my closest friends at St Peter’s was a wonderful man called Tom Canty. His passion for the history and heritage of St Peter’s was inspiring, as was his interest in the First World War.

Because of his passion, Tom researched each of the men listed on the memorial in St Peter’s Church who died in the First World War. I shared Tom’s conviction that these men must not be forgotten and was very honoured when Tom gave me permission to share his work here.

Memorial to those men from St Peter’s Church who died in the First and Second World Wars

Tom sadly died in 2026, and this section of the website is my personal tribute to him. My hope is to continue his work and add information on those listed on the Second World War memorial, as well as other those involved in other conflicts.

We will remember them.
