However, there have also been some very special anniversary celebrations in the past and here are some memories of those!
The first official commemoration at St Peter’s Church of the anniversary that I have been able to find was an article in the Parish Magazine, Summer 1987.

40th Anniversary
The first major celebrations, though, took place on July 6, 1997, for the 40th anniversary, when Jean Catherall reunited the Quarrymen and recreated the events of 1957. Click here for photos and memories of that very special day!

50th Anniversary
In 2007, the Quarrymen returned to St Peter’s as part of a full weekend of celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the day that John met Paul, this time including an amazing flower festival. Click HERE for more photos and memories.
60th Anniversary

To mark the 60th anniversary of the day that John Lennon first met Paul McCartney at St Peter’s Church on July 6, 1957, St Peter’s opened its doors for a five day music festival and celebration of community! Click HERE for more on all the events and photo galleries!
65th Anniversary

The Quarrymen returned to St Peter’s Church Hall to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the day that John met Paul, supported by the Cavern’s resident Merseybeat band, the Shakers. The celebrations also included an Open Mic night with a special performance of Twenty Flight Rock timed to perfection! See more HERE.
