Beatles Singalong at St Peter’s

One of the most popular community groups at St Peter’s Church is the monthly singalong, that takes place on the first Wednesday of every month in the Hub.

We are delighted to announce that the Singalong team, led by Norma Townley, will be recreating the Beatles Singalong to launch our anniversary celebrations in July!

The Singalong is one of the best examples of the ‘magic of community’ — our theme for the anniversary weekend — and so is the perfect start to five days of celebration.

Beatles Singalong, St Peter’s Church Hall, August 2016

A Beatles Singalong was first held in the Church Hall in August, as part of our Beatle Week celebrations and proved incredibly popular.  Thanks to the wonder of ‘facebook live’ we had people singing along with us from as far away as Japan and the United States!

It’s even more fun in person, though, so please join us in St Peter’s Church Hall on Wednesday July 5, from 10.30am to 12noon to singalong to your favourite Beatles songs with fabulous company, as well as tea and cake!

Church Hall opening over the Anniversary Weekend

THURSDAY JULY 6: 10AM – 3PM (FREE ADMISSION)

St Peter’s Church Hall will be open to visitors on the 60th anniversary of the day that John and Paul met.  Come and stand on the spot where Paul ‘auditioned’ to join the Quarrymen and musical history was made!

The musical legacy of that historic day will be celebrated with live performances from the fabulous Eddie Devlin and Catherine Cook, and some of the current members of the congregation who were at the Church Fete on July 6, 1957, will be on hand to share their memories of that fateful day

There will also be the opportunity to purchase exclusive souvenirs, including t-shirts, key-rings, commemorative posters, badges and postcards, as well as the Hymnals and Prayer Books used during the 1950s.  These items are only available at the Church and cannot be purchased online.

Further details of this and other anniversary events will be announced soon!
